What level should I book?

05/08/2020

You’re heading off on your winter holiday to Queenstown and you’re looking to rent your ski and snowboard equipment, but if you’ve never rented before. How do you know what level of equipment to book? We’re here to help!

For both our ski and snowboarding equipment, we offer three levels – Budget, Sport and Advanced. Here’s a simple breakdown of the main differences between the levels.

Budget

Budget does not mean beginner here at Snow Rental. Budget is our older fleet, aimed at those with experience looking for a lower-priced single day mountain experience. This range is not as responsive or easy to use as the new gear in our Sport range, so it’s not a great options if you’re intending to spend multiple days on the slopes. Budget is aimed at the single day mountain experience for people on a budget.

Sport

Sport is our most popular rental package. Our Sport skis and snowboards are either new or are no more than two seasons old. Sport gear is responsive and suitable for a wide range of abilities and for all-mountain use. Our Sports gear is aimed for those wanting to enjoy most trails and off-piste, while still aspiring to the challenge of the off black run when feeling a bit feisty.

Advanced

Our Advanced range is designed for the ultimate experience. All gear is constructed with the latest technology for a great day on the slopes. For skiers, we have All Mountain, Freeride, Super Sidecut, carving and Women’s specific gear. For snowboarders, we have All Mountain, Park and Freestyle boards available. If you’re looking for something specific, give us a ring before you’re scheduled to come in and we can talk through some options with you.

If you’re still unsure on what level to pick, please contact us and talk to the team. We’re more than happy to get you the advice you need so that you can have a comfortable, safe and fun ski holiday!
